The Monkeys

These are the apes that Thundarr, Ariel and Ucla the Mok will be battling in the Thundarr drawing. Hopefully they'll all come out okay. I was initially planning to make them all robot monkeys... but I'm not so sure that I'll do that now. Thundar and the Mok should be coming to you shortly. I hope you enjoy.

Well, my scanner is kinda botched after all. So I'm posting an old image for now. yay.
This was just a pencil sketch for the MM2 sketchcards. It's a little raw, but it came out okay. I hope you enjoy it.

Simple Markers

I've been doing some sketches with slim tipped markers in my sketchbook. They don't look superb or anything, but they're fun and kinda lively. I hope you guys can enjoy them. They're really fun to do.
Most of the things that I'll be posting for the coming weeks will be simple sketches like these. I'll post some more of the Thundarr image as it progresses too.
Obviously... I got the scanner to kinda work. It's a pain still though.

Nova Sketchcard

You know... I actually have some sketches to share with anyone that might actually be interested in this blog at this point. But my stinkin' 5 month old scanner just broke down last night. But enough about that. I gotta post something at some point so here's an image of a sketch that I did for one of the Marvel Masterpiece Artist Proof sketch cards.
It was done with markers and gouache. I really enjoy doing these small sketches like that. Time doesn't really permit me to do much of that kind of thing these days. But I love how quick and fresh looking they are when I'm done.
Honestly, as time passes, I tend to have less and less patience with actually finishing a decent piece. By the time I'm done with the sketch... the idea is done for me. I need to get over that though... or perhaps I need to jump into that even more.

Thundarr the Barbarian

Howdy. Here's a sketch that I'm working on for a Thundarr the Barbarian thing that I keep planning. But I need to finish John Higashi's Star Wars painting before I finish this or John might break my neck. And deservedly so.

Deadpool2

This is the Illustrator version of that sketch. Like I said... I've been experimenting with Jason's method lately. Hopefully you dig it. But I'm ego-less these days when it comes to art. So you can be totally and brutally honest. Thanks for peekin'.

Jason Motivates Everything

If it weren't for Jason Walker I wouldn't ever get anything done in my waning illustration career. He started a blog a few weeks ago and inspired me to do it myself. I not only don't really have time to do it, but I'm also not as good as J is. So this is a bit of an experiment to see if I will actually post somewhat regularly. And to see if I'll actually get some sketches done. The sketch is actually a small Deadpool that I did when Jason was last visiting. I'm finishing it off in Illustrator using the same techniques that J has been using over the last half a year or so. I've been working in Illustrator too, but his method is probably a little better. If you dig it... cool. If not... cool.
